Privacy Policy

SnapScreens is a suite of native desktop applications (SnapScreens Studio, SnapCover, SnapScript) developed and distributed by the SnapScreens team.

Note: SnapScript for iOS has its own separate Privacy Policy available on its App Store page, which covers on-device speech recognition and iOS-specific permissions. This policy covers the SnapScreens desktop applications and the snapscreens.com website only.

SnapScreens desktop applications run entirely on your local computer. We do not have servers that store your projects, screenshots, ASO copy, keywords, app ideas, cover designs, or any other content you create inside the app.

We do not require an account. We do not track how you use the app. We do not know which features you use, how many projects you have, or what apps you're building.

This was a deliberate decision: the primary reason SnapScreens was built as a native desktop application rather than a web tool.

LOCAL STORAGE ONLY: All project files, screenshots, ASO listings, keyword data, cover designs and app metadata are saved to your local disk. This data never leaves your computer.

LICENSE ACTIVATION: When you activate a license key, a one-time network request is sent to our licensing server to validate the key and register the device. The server receives your license key and a device fingerprint only. No personal data beyond this is transmitted.

TEMPLATE CDN: If you download templates or graphic assets, your device makes a network request to our CDN. This request includes standard HTTP headers (IP address, browser/OS type). CDN access logs are retained for 30 days for security purposes and not used for profiling.

WEBSITE: The snapscreens.com website uses minimal server-side logs (IP, page requested, referrer) retained for 30 days for security. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioral analytics tool.

The SnapScreens desktop applications contain no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that phones home, and no usage telemetry of any kind.

We have no data about which features you use, how often you open the app, or what you create. What happens in the app stays in the app.

If you connect an AI provider (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), you supply your own API key. That key is stored in the app's local secure storage on your device. It is never sent to SnapScreens servers.

When you use an AI feature, the request goes directly from your device to the AI provider's API. SnapScreens does not see, intercept, or log the content of these requests.

AI API usage is governed by each provider's own privacy policy: Anthropic (anthropic.com/privacy), OpenAI (openai.com/policies/privacy-policy), Google (policies.google.com/privacy).

We use Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record for all license purchases. Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, tax compliance and license key delivery on our behalf.

When you purchase a license, Lemon Squeezy securely processes your payment information. SnapScreens does not see, receive or store your credit card or payment details at any point.

We receive only your email address and name from Lemon Squeezy, used exclusively to provide customer support and assist with license recovery if needed.

Your email is used exclusively to:

• Deliver your license key

• Send renewal reminders (subscription plans)

• Notify you of major changes to your license terms

We do not add your email to any marketing list without your explicit opt-in.

Legal basis for processing: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract — delivering your license).

We offer an optional newsletter with product updates, new feature announcements, template releases and ASO tips.

Subscription is opt-in only. You will never be added to the newsletter without explicitly signing up.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email. Unsubscription takes effect immediately.

Your email address used for newsletter subscription is stored with our email service provider and used solely for sending the newsletter. It is not shared with third parties.

Because we hold minimal personal data (primarily your purchase email), your GDPR rights are straightforward to exercise.

RIGHT OF ACCESS: You can request what data we hold about you. In practice, this is your email address and purchase record.

RIGHT TO ERASURE: You can request deletion of your email from our records. Note that anonymizing your purchase record may affect future license validation. Contact support@snapscreens.com.

RIGHT TO UNSUBSCRIBE: Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email. No need to contact us.

For all other requests, contact support@snapscreens.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Purchase records (email, license key, purchase date) are retained for the duration of your license plus 3 years for accounting purposes.

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

All content you create in the app is stored locally on your device and is entirely under your control. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete your project data from the local data directory.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Software changes or when required by law. Material changes will be communicated via email to license holders. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
